By Dikki-Jo Mullen, Astrologer
This rare celestial event spans 9:37 pm EST on January 20 through January 21, 1:51 am EST. The totality will be at 12:16 am EST. The best time, hoping the sky is clear, for Moon gazing will be from about 11:42 pm until just after midnight on January 20-21, Sunday night to the wee hours on Monday. The Moon will be huge and bright, as a Supermoon is so much closer to the Earth than usual. Colored by the sun’ s rays, a red color will wash over the Moon. This might be a dark red or a brighter hue, to be revealed that night. Some say blood is spilled in the month following a Blood Moon. The Storm Moon is one of the names given to this January Full Moon. The eclipse will be at 0 degrees of Leo 52’. Creativity, expressing the personality and exploring one’s heart’s desires are the keynotes. Look at where this zodiacal degree falls in your own horoscope for more specific insights. The Eclipses and Retrogrades In 2019
A Year of Personal and Planetary Change

By Dikki-Jo Mullen, Astrologer

Eclipses
Eclipses are close alignments of the Sun, Moon and Earth. They generate an intense energy focus. Elements of surprise, odd weather patterns, overall changes, growth and new perspectives are linked to eclipses. Those who have a birthday within three days of an eclipse can expect some shifts in the status quo. Perhaps a new job, residential move or relationship situation will play a part in this. There will be five eclipses this year, three are partial and one is total.
January 5, 2019 -New Moon- partial solar eclipse in Capricorn, South Node
January 20-21, 2019 – Full Moon – total solar eclipse in Cancer – North Node
(this is a Supermoon and will be a red or blood eclipse visible in the USA)
July 2, 2019 – New Moon – total solar eclipse in Cancer, North Node
July 16, 2019 – Full Moon- partial lunar eclipse in Capricorn, South Node
December 26, 2019 – New Moon – partial solar eclipse in Capricorn, South Node
A total eclipse is more influential than a partial. The eclipses conjunct the Moon’s North Node are thought to be more favorable than those which are conjunct the South Node.

Year of the Earth Boar
February 5, 2019 – January 24, 2020
Chinese Astrology Lunar Year 4717

By Dikki-Jo Mullen
Chinese Astrology is unique among the world‘s zodiac calendars in that it follows a cycle of twelve years. Each year is associated with a different animal. This is the calendar followed throughout The Orient, from China to Japan, Vietnam, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Korea, etc. and is probably familiar to a larger segment of the Earth’s population than any other time table. It began almost 5000 years ago with Buddha’s legendary birthday party. All of the animals were invited. The twelve who came were each gifted with a year along with the promise that they would be the animals to hide in the hearts of those born that year. Five elements (fire, water, metal, earth and wood) distinguish the years. Every sixty years the cyclical pattern of element-animal pairs repeats.
The Boar or Pig was the last of the twelve animals to arrive at the gathering and to be rewarded by Buddha with a stewardship. Ever since the Boar has feared being late and has no patience with tardiness or those who waste valuable time. It doesn’t do to wait until the last minute to complete projects this year. It will be worthwhile to arrive in plenty of time for appointments.
The Chinese New Year begins at the 2nd New Moon following the winter solstice, in late January or early February. The date changes from year to year, occurring from late January to mid- February.
Long respected and cherished as one of the most precious of animals the Pig, or
Boar, symbolizes practicality combined with creativity. Values, particularly those of truth, nobility and chivalry, are upheld. Creativity, especially in regard to enhancing security, will be important. The Earth Boar, also dubbed “The Pig in the Forest ”, is peace loving, determined, and vulnerable to betrayal. Expect to encounter an insistence upon quality in dealings this year. There is a love of refinement, creature comforts and a tendency to be indulgent. Being well informed about current events and acquiring useful knowledge will be a priority. Devotion to studies and scrupulous honesty pave the pathway to greater personal success during a Boar year.
Boar people are beloved for their kindness, loyalty and sincerity. They do find dishonesty hard to forgive. Courageous and headstrong, Boars seldom deter once they set upon a course of action. Piggy’s preference is for serenity and reveling in beautiful, even opulent, surroundings. Good manners, good taste and classiness are priorities. In their innermost hearts those born during a Boar year want all to be well and comfortable on Earth. Understand that theirs is not a snobbish nature. It is one of ultimate refinement.
Years of the Boar … 1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007, 2019, 2031

2019 – A Universal Three Year
Astro-Numerology
By Dikki-Jo Mullen

Calendars and numbers naturally go together. The numbers of the days, months and years help to orient us. Numbers are essential to sanity and happiness, they help us find our way amid the chaos. There is something so comforting about numbers. Astrology and numerology have gone hand in hand at least since the time of Pythagoras in the 6th Century BC. Number codes are prominent in many spiritual texts, including The Bible.
A wonderful way to begin to understand number patterns is to consider the Universal Year. 2019 is 2+0+1+9= 12. 1+2 =3 So 2019 is a three Universal Year.
The three year is ruled by Jupiter. Sometimes called the perfect number, the three is expressive, inspired, imaginative, pleasure loving, prone to excesses, a bit scattered and maybe gossipy. Clever and studious, this year is related to the trinity and the triangle/pyramid power, the most stable of shapes.
Rose, amber, ruby red and rust are some favorable colors for wardrobe, home décor and meditation candles this year. Crystals to wear or carry include amethyst and garnet. Popular midde of the road “easy listening” music is favored. The musical note is C.
Health wise the skin, nerves, liver and body weight can be a focus. Foods to have in one’s diet this year are: Apples (fights fat), cherries, strawberries, peaches, avocado, olives and endive. Mint is the favorable medicinal tea. It will relieve pain and enhance uplift overall well being.

What does this number three year of 2019 promise for you? To determine your own personal year number add your month and day of birth to three (for 2019), then keep adding the numbers together until just one single digit remains.
This is an example for Beatle Paul McCartney who was born on June 18. Add 06 (for June) + 18 (day of the month) + 3 (for 2019) = 27 and 2 + 7 = 9. So the year of 2019 shows a personal nine year, a time of endings, spirituality and humanitarian orientations for McCartney. The planets Mars and Pluto in his natal horoscope will be accented.
There is some variety in the astrological ruler ships of the nine numbers, but here are the ones I prefer to use.

One will, leadership, vitality, independence, beginnings (Sun)

Two sensitive, partners, emotions, receptive (Moon)

Three expansion, creative, diplomatic, sociable (Jupiter)

Four structured, boundaries, limitations, physical, grounded (Saturn)

Five dual, communicates, restless, adventure, witty, clever (Mercury)

Six domestic, loyal, concerned, artistic, refined, cultured (Venus)

Seven intellectual, mysterious, mystical, reserved, occultism (Uranus)

Eight tenacious, materialist, accomplished, powerful, upward mobility
(Neptune, also Jupiter)

Nine universal, endings, humane, broad scope, spiritual, reflective
(Mars, also Pluto)

Live in Harmony With Your Numbers
Finish up things in your personal nine year, begin projects afresh in a one year. Marry or try creative projects in a two or six year. Work hard in a four or eight year. Take risks and expand in a three year, try study, travel and multi-tasking in a five year. Meditate and contemplate, enjoy peace and privacy in your personal seven year.

Think back upon important years in your own life. Check the numerology of the years you recall. This will help you to predict the times ahead. To look ahead using numerology remember that the months of January and October of each year give a foreshadowing of the times to come in the next year. Events in January and October of 2018, for example, will foreshadow the whole of 2019.
