The Ash Tree relates to a time period spanning late Aquarius – late Pisces in the familiar zodiac. Its name, Nion,
Actually means ‘heaven’. A tree of enchantment, the Ash was the source of magic wands fashioned by the Welsh magician Gwydion, who eventually became the archetype for Merlin. Early English astrologers made Star Regulus a royal star, seeing a portent of “glory, riches, and power to all born under its influence”. So traditionally fixed star Regulus has generally been considered fortunate, courageous, successful and all those great qualities associated with the Sun Sign of the glorious Lion, Leo. Yet other astrologers assign Regulus a negative side, interpreting it differently. “Regulus brings violence, destructiveness, military honor of short duration, with ultimate failure, imprisonment, violent death”. Regulus has been linked with forecasts of downfall. Either way this star has a macho -masculine energy. Its influence can range from the divine to a low, even crass, vibration.
