Holiday Moon

Sagittarius New Moon on Wednesday, November 23, 2022
By Dikki-Jo Mullen, Astrologer

On the eve before Thanksgiving a sense of expectancy and change welcomes the holiday season to come. The New Moon in Sagittarius takes place at 5:57 pm EST at 01 degrees 37 Sagittarius. This is in the double Jupiter decanate of the sign, just after Jupiter completes its retrograde and goes direct. An energy wave combining hope and a strong will carries us along to the brink of the winter holiday season. Sagittarius and Jupiter are about travel and adventure. Visualize the future and prepare to explore. It coincides with expectations of the busiest travel season ever. The expansion of the mind as well as widening philosophical horizons make this upcoming four week lunar cycle about growth. Connections with companion animals, wild life and foreign influences can be embraced. Write a wish list during the 8 hours following the New Moon to watch a dream materialize in the days ahead as Luna grows full. The Sabian symbol for this degree is “The ocean covered with white caps”, suggesting the stirring up of energy and breaking of stagnant patterns. Water quality and precipitation (snow and rain) can also be factors. The fixed Star Yed Prior at 2 degrees Sagittarius 08 impacts the Sun and Moon at this lunation. Yed prior has a Saturn-Jupiter nature. It offers a healing, helpful hand motivated by a fixed purpose. Expressions of love combined with a bit of self indulgence can be sensed. A receptivity to revolution and catharsis is simmering. The Sun and Moon form a stellium including Venus and Mercury in Sagittarius. Eloquence and emotion charged words as well as deep appreciation for art and beauty bring a note of idealism. Retrograde Mars in Gemini is in a wide opposition to the Sagittarius placements promising some division and cross purposes. It’s a time to steer clear of confrontations of any kind. The aggressor always loses when Mars is retrograde. Keep the peace to be the winner. Jupiter and Neptune in Pisces favorably aspect Pluto in Capricorn. Concern about displaced persons or animals can inspire acts of charity. Saturn in Aquarius square Uranus in Taurus makes security issues an ongoing concern for many and can point to conflicting values. All are seeking freedom. Expect protests and resistance if anything or anyone limits freedom of expression and the will

Howl to Hecate, Tonight, November 16 is Her night! Taking an offering to the Cross roads!
Hecate, Goddess of the Cosmic Cross Roads
Astrology of the Triple Moon
Astrology Sky Watch updates by Dikki-Jo Mullen, Astrologer

November 16, 2022 reflects the soft grey of autumn. Even in Central Florida a subtle chill in the air promises something new, fresh and interesting, the sunlight is subdued. Shadows prevail. It’s the morning of Hecate Eve.
Remember to Howl to Hecate!
Hecate is among the most ancient of Goddess figures. Sacred to her are
crossroads, the night, wanderers and deepest mysteries. The eternal nature of magic is her gift. She sometimes travels with large black dogs.
Through her depth, she will help you to rise above the boring, hum drum and mundane aspects of daily life! Hecate’s symbol is a unique Wheel which suggests a three fold pattern, the eternal circle of life itself. Hecate Eve is November 16. Seek her then and during all dark and stormy nights, especially between Halloween and Yuletide. Stroll in the gloaming and leave an offering to this ancient one at a crossroads, perhaps a dark plum, brown bread or a crystal. If you see or hear the howl of a noble canine you will know your offering has been accepted and a favor you would ask can be granted.

The Sun is at the 24th degree of Scorpio, mid way through the decanate of Scorpio ruled by the Moon as well as Pluto. The fixed star Agena conjoins this degree. Agena has a nature of Venus and Jupiter. According to Ptolemy, it bestows friendship, health, refinement and honors.
