Duir, the sign of the Oak Tree, honors strength and endurance, purity and consistency. The Druidic beliefs were based on a cult honoring the sacred oak tree. A transmigration of growth, through the challenges and blockages of early life to emerge proclaiming liberty is the theme here. Germination on the astral plain for the purpose of finding a portal to higher dimensions Oak is more long lived and stands taller than most all other trees. Doors and furniture made of oak have been known to last a thousand years. The golden wheel, white horse, planet Jupiter and Dagda, the ‘good god’ of Old Irish mythology reign link to this Celtic sign. A chief of the fey ones, Dagda was an early agricultural deity. He divided the hills and the mountains among the Tuatha da Danann. With his inexhaustible cauldrons of stew and fruit trees, he is a benevolent provider.
