Hey Astrologers! This spring, 2024 eclipse season is off to a wild start. Here is the event chart for the tragic collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore at 1;27 am EDT on March 26, 2024. Also see the City’s horoscope for incorporation on August 19, 1729. What stands out to me is that the Bridge collapse took place with transit Saturn in Pisces, the same placement as in the Baltimore city chart’s Saturn. It’s a Saturn Return event. (Pisces is a water sign). The Great Eclipse of April 8, 2024 is in Aries, Baltimore’s city chart has Aries placements accented. The Bridge is named to honor the author of our National Anthem. Francis Scott Key, a Leo sun sign, was born on August 1, 1779 in Frederick Maryland. The City of Baltimore is a Leo location, hence Key’s legacy with the area. Currently Pluto (represents destruction) is transiting in Aquarius, Leo’s opposing sign, for a very long time. The accident’s event chart has Uranus rising in Scorpio, the sign of Pluto’s rulership. This is a truly intriguing study in astrology. What else can you see in these two amazing charts?

Eclipse Season Stars on Easter Week

Two Eclipses and a Mercury Retrograde

The Eclipse Season and various Astrological Dramas

by Dikki-Jo Mullen

Holy Week of 2024 brings the first Full Moon of the springtime. The astrological patterns which accompany this are profound. It all begins with the Full Moon on Monday, March 25, the day following Palm Sunday. There will be a partial lunar eclipse at 3:00 am EDT at 5 degrees Libra 07’. It will appear as a corner shadowed out of the Full Moon, if the sky is clear. Then another eclipse follows on Monday, April 8 at 2:20 pm EDT. This is the big one which is drawing so much attention. It it will be the Great Eclipse of this part of the 21st Century. There won’t be another one like it until 2044. This total lunar eclipse will shadow and sweep over North America from Mexico, across the USA and Eastern Canada, turning day into night.

The two week interval between these lunations is called an eclipse season. An eclipse season is volatile. Meanwhile, Mercury turns retrograde in Aries on April Fools Day, April 1, and  goes direct on April 25. Elements of the unexpected are at work. Be observant and flexible. The March 25 Full Moon in Libra emphasizes an emotional attachment to justice. Many relationships will be in flux. Artists can be productive, the art world might be impacted. The zodiacal degree symbol reads “ A Branch of a Tree obscures  an ancient looking Inn Sign. The implication is that relics, traditional customs, antiques and ancestry and collectibles can be of special significance. The eclipse is  rather close to the Fixed Star Vindemiatrix. This is a significant star. Its name is said to have been given because it rises in the morning just before the time of vintage, the grape harvest. According to Ptolemy, it is of the nature of Saturn and Mercury; and to Alvidas, of Mercury and Saturn in evil aspect. It gives falsity, disgrace, stealing, and wanton folly.

This yellow giant star is at a distance of 93 light years from Earth. It imparts impulsiveness, wanton folly, indiscretion, foolishness, scandalous actions, poverty, criticism, depression, and leadership ability. It can lead to nervous irritability.

Vindemiatrix is a mischief-making star that can indicate disgrace for the native (if male) or the untimely death of a husband (if female).

In ancient astrology, this star ranks with Algol in having an unmitigated reputation for evil. The name from which comes our word Alcohol. As always, much depends on how one sees events themselves as good or bad. Yes, it does frequently mark a prominent  death, hence its nick name of ‘The Widow Maker’. (Astrology King was consulted as a reference about Vindemiatrix).

Among the Native Americans and Colonial traditions, this Full Moon has been called the Worm Moon and Seed Moon. The implications are that the Earth is awakening and about to grow. The earthworms are wriggling and the seeds are sprouting.

The Mercury retrograde in Aries can bring some false starts and stops affecting progress and new projects. Wars and other conflicts can be involved. Patience is a must. For those starting  a new job, it might be temporary. Use care in making promises, especially if signing contracts. History repeats itself under Mercury retrograde.

The Great Solar Eclipse will be in Aries, 19 degrees 24’,  at the New Moon on April 8. It degree symbol reads “ A young girl feeding birds in the winter.” This shows concern for the vulnerable while coping with weather. There can be really significant political events unfolding around the world.

Astrologers! Below are the two event charts for the eclipses. What else do you see? If you are outside the greater Orlando area be sure to correct the houses for your location!

New Moon of Fish, Waves and Mermaids

New Moon in Pisces March 10, 2024

By Dikki-Jo Mullen, Astrologer and Medium

Winter’s final New Moon at 5:00 am EDT on Sunday, March 10, 2024 takes place during the dark morning hours just after  Daylight Savings Time begins. This lunation is in the sign of Pisces at 20 degrees 16’. This is in the Neptune -Pluto ruled decanate of the  sign of The Fish. Secrets and deep undercurrents are flowing. All is not quickly revealed or understood. The Sun and Moon are in an applying conjunction Neptune,  with a wide orb separating  conjunction with Saturn. The placements are all in Pisces. Mercury is on the cusp at 0 degrees of Aries and makes an out of sign conjunction with the late degree Pisces placements. The event chart shows that the planets are in a tight bundle formation. This is a very intense and focused time, watch out for the “tempest in a tea cup” syndrome. Trivialities can  be over stated. Maintain perspective and seek a balance. Intuition and imagination are strong, seek to express feelings constructively. There can be genuine intuitive flashes. Dreams can be significant. Unusual events are likely to occur around the waterfront. Recently a very rare species of whale was spotted off the Florida coast. There was also a report of a sighting of a single puffin, an arctic bird never seen in this part of the world, being rescued. Water elementals such as mermaids, selkies and kelpies can be in evidence. In “Degrees of the Zodiac Symbolized” this zodiacal degree is interpreted as “A man walking in the darkness holding an old-fashioned lantern”. The message is “Finding a way out of difficulty, having faith in the truths taught by forefathers, divine instincts offer guidance”.

This is a good time to focus on whatever is most important. Consolidate. Don’t scatter energy, resources or do too much multi- tasking. Seek information, exchange ideas. The mood is sincere and feelings are sensitive. Write a wish list during the 8 hours after the New Moon and watch a dream materialize as the Moon waxes and grows toward the Full phase. The next Full Moon will be in Libra on March 25. That Full Moon marks the start of a really significant two week long eclipse season.

Astrologers what else do you see in this New Moon event chart? Remember to adjust the house cusps if you are outside the greater Orlando area.

The Year of the Wood Dragon

February 10, 2024 – January 28, 2025

     By Dikki-Jo Mullen

The Dragon is the fifth of the twelve animal signs in the Chinese Zodiac. Dragon is the only supernatural creature in this celestial parade of animals, which each represent a year. Five elements (fire, water, metal, earth and wood) are also a part of this oldest of the world’s zodiac/calendars. Based on a cycle of twelve years rather than twelve months, this zodiac – calendar is followed throughout the Far East from Japan and Korea to Vietnam and China. Every sixty years the pattern of element-animal pairs repeats. Chinese New Year commences with the second New Moon after the winter solstice. This places the lunar New Year in late January to mid February. It almost always will be at the New Moon in Aquarius.

Dragon years are thought to be most auspicious. Good luck, health and strength are on the rise. Talent and overall excellence are expressed. In the Orient there is a legend that humans are descended from a dragon. Employers and other important people are said to be reincarnated dragons. During dragon years seeking comfort and enhanced personal well being is encouraged. The Dragon encourages an upbeat and happy influence. Linked to the highest of celestial energies, it is imposing and magnificent. As an emblem of authority and power, Dragon is portrayed holding a magical pearl in his mouth. This precious jewel represents both the Moon and Sun as well as the spiritual essence of the universe. Among Dragon‘s attributes is a wisdom exceeding that of other animals. He can transform himself into a myriad of shapes, from a tiny dragonfly to a huge and fiery serpentine creature covering the entire sky. The various species of Dragons are differentiated by the five elements. 2024 brings the Green Wood Dragon. The Wood element is the personification of growth and development. Its color, green, carries a positive, association with the flowering of nature and new life. The Wood Dragon also is thought to guard homes and other important structures against collapse.

At the same time the wise will be cautious when considering gambles. Dragon can go too far and become a party monster. The year’s electrical atmosphere can generate folly through impulsive moves and over extension. Look ahead at the consequences before taking a significant risk. The mighty Dragon ushers in numerous surprises and encourages progressive revolts against the status quo. Those born during a Dragon year are described as being flamboyant, regal, magnetic, intelligent, good managers and leaders.
